Main Street Bagels | Our Story
A century of Bagels, now on Main Street
More than a century of New York bagel-making led us to Main Street. We're keeping that family craft going for our Flushing neighbors.

1901
Our Grandpa Anshel came from Austria to New York City in 1901. He opened bagel bakeries across the tri-state area, and the family has been baking since.

Brooklyn to Queens
After World War II, Grandpa Herb joined the family and later opened Flatlands Bagels in Brooklyn. Later generations brought the craft to Queens, first through Jerusalem Bagel Bakery and now Main Street Bagels.
How we bake
We bake in small batches, with time-honored technique and careful preparation. It's a century-old family craft, and we do it the right way.

Come early for bialys
We open at 6am. Come in the morning and you'll catch the bialys soft and airy.
Lox, sliced by hand
Our lox is sliced by hand, and it belongs on a bagel with cream cheese. Nova and smoked fish are the right thing to order here.
